24th May - Six girls from Year 6, along with Katie and Ellie from Year 5, took part in the Girls Cricket Tournament at Malvern Cricket Club. Our Football Tournament At West Brom.

On 14th February 2018, the Powick football team arrived at school for 7:45 to head to West Brom. We arrived at 9:00 and had a warm-up for our first game at 9:45. Our first game was against Colmore, they were a tough team and unfortunately, we lost 1-0. Our second game was against Glynne. They battled hard and wanted to win all the battles.  Sadly, we lost 2-0. Against Aston Fields (who had already beaten us twice before) it was another battle and we lost    2-0. Then the group stages were abandoned because the under 23s had to come into the dome where we were playing because it was snowing outside. Therefore, we went straight to the knockouts. 1st place played 3rd and 2nd played 4th (which was us.) We came up against Aston Fields again. About half way through the game, Lewis launched a big throw towards the head of Josh who flicked the ball into the back of the net. We all went wild! That game ended 1-0. We were through to the finals!!! We were against Glynne - the game went through to extra time and in the very last kick of the game, they shot a rocket past us and into the back of the net. We were devastated. We had lost the final. We were also very proud because at the start of the tournament there was 70 schools and we had come 2nd.

13/10/17 Worcestershire West Cross Country Championships - year 6 team

County Cricket Finals. New Road. Wednesday 12th July

This year, our Year 5, year 6 girls and Year 6 open cricket teams all won their qualifying competitions, to earn a place in the Worcestershire County Primary Schools Cricket Finals. This was held on Wednesday 12th July at New Road, the home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club. Each team played in their own tournament, against teams from all over the county. They played well, with great spirit and team work. Although they didn't win, it was a great day, and a real credit that all three teams qualified for the finals. They all earned their ice creams at the end of a lovely day.
On Wednesday afternoon Key Stage 2 held their Sports Day. Despite it being one of the hottest days of the year, everyone joined in with great energy and enthusiasm. Congratulations to Saturn on their victory, and well done Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune for a valiant challenge.
