We teach early reading and phonics using the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme. This systematic, synthetic phonics programme provides children with daily, engaging phonics lessons that develop their decoding, fluency and reading confidence. Our fully decodable reading books are carefully matched to each child's secure phonic knowledge, ensuring that every child can practise and apply the sounds they have been taught, building confidence and success as a reader.

Children's progress is assessed regularly to ensure they are keeping up with the programme. Those who require additional support receive Little Wandle Keep Up sessions, delivered promptly to help them secure the learning they need and prevent them from falling behind. Where appropriate, further assessment may be undertaken to identify any additional barriers to learning, allowing targeted intervention and support to be put in place.
