Welcome to Powick Church of England Primary School.
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to Powick C of E Primary School. It is designed to give you a real sense of our warm community, the achievements of our pupils and the high-quality education we strive to provide.
Our school is a one-form entry village primary, ideally situated between the picturesque Malvern Hills and the historic Cathedral city of Worcester. Visitors often comment on our spacious grounds, excellent facilities and stimulating environment. Above all, they recognise our inclusive, caring ethos and the strong family feel that makes our school such a special place to belong. Our atmosphere is friendly, respectful, and nurturing.
We are incredibly proud of our hardworking, well-behaved, and happy children. As Headteacher, I feel privileged to lead such a talented and dedicated team, committed to achieving high standards while fostering a love of learning. We promote independence and initiative within a happy, healthy, and safe environment where every achievement is recognised and celebrated. We firmly believe that every child can flourish in an ever-changing world.

'Embracing Learning Together'
At Powick we are embracing the practice of Trauma Informed Schools.
As a trauma informed school, we recognise the great challenges for many of our children and their families who are suffering with mental health difficulties and trauma.
We know this will impact not only on their health and wellbeing now, in their primary years, but also on their ability to flourish both academically and spiritually as children, young people and adults.
As a result, all of our staff receive training on how to support children with a range of mental health and wellbeing difficulties. Children and families at Powick CE Primary know that our staff will always listen to their individual needs and concerns and take these seriously. Acting out our school Christian vision, we provide the care and support that will help our children overcome their unique difficulties knowing they are each valued as an individual member of our school community.
On 1 September 2026, the Diocese of Worcester Multi Academy Trust (DoWMAT) merged with Elements Diocesan Learning Trust to form a single organisation: Elements Diocesan Learning Trust. As a result, references on this website to DoWMAT relate to the Trust's former name. During this transition period, some documents, policies and website content may continue to display DoWMAT branding while they are reviewed and updated. The merger has created a larger family of schools, with five additional schools joining the Trust. This brings new opportunities for collaboration, shared expertise and school improvement, while allowing each school to retain its unique identity and place within its local community. Our school continues to benefit from the support and opportunities of being part of the Trust, whose vision is "Flourishing together, in the love of God," underpinned by the values of Love, Learning and Service, lived out through Collaboration, Honesty and Hope. The Trust website is also currently being updated to reflect the merger and new branding. During this transition period, Trust-wide policies and key information can be accessed via the current Trust website: www.dowmat.education. Policies, branding and website content will be harmonised and updated over time across all schools and Trust platforms. We appreciate your understanding as we update our materials to reflect our new name and identity: Elements Diocesan Learning Trust.
