At Powick CE Primary School, we recognise the many benefits of learning outdoors and are committed to providing high-quality Forest School experiences for all children.

Our Reception pupils take part in Welly Wednesdays, enjoying weekly Forest School sessions that develop confidence, independence and a love of the natural world through child-led exploration and play.

We are excited to announce that from 2026–27, every other year group will also benefit from Forest School for half a term each academic year. Sessions are led by a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader and provide opportunities for children to develop practical skills such as whittling, using tools safely, den building and fire lighting, alongside teamwork, resilience, problem-solving and respect for the environment.
