We always encourage healthy eating and would welcome your support. Children should bring a bottle of water to school everyday to ensure they are hydrated and well as a healthy snack (not chocolate or crisps).
Free fruit is provided for children in EYFS and KS1 during the day.
All children have a choice to bring a packed lunch or a hot school lunch each day.

Allergy Awareness at Black Pepper
"We are committed to providing safe, inclusive, and nutritious meals for all children. Our catering team carefully manages all allergens in line with current food safety guidelines, with clear ingredient information (available on our website) and procedures in place to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. As a nut-free site, we take extra precautions to help ensure the safety of children with nut allergies. We work closely with parents and schools to accommodate individual dietary requirements, medical needs, and religious requirements, ensuring that every child can enjoy balanced and high-quality meals with confidence and care."
Update October 2026
"One of the changes we will be making is to reduce the number of sweet desserts offered each week from five days to three. On the remaining two days, we will be introducing fresh fruit salad as an alternative. We hope this gradual approach will encourage children to enjoy a wider variety of options and become accustomed to the changes over time.An important note regarding allergens – Tomato & Pesto Pasta. We would also like to draw your attention to a new addition to our menu: Tomato & Pesto Pasta.
We understand that the word pesto can understandably raise concerns regarding nuts, so we would like to reassure you that this menu item is completely nut-free. We take allergen management and the safety of the children we cater for extremely seriously, and we would never introduce a menu item without carefully considering these important requirements.
We appreciate how important it is for schools, parents and carers to feel confident in the food being served to children. Please be assured that we remain committed to providing meals that are both enjoyable and prepared with children's safety and wellbeing at the forefront.
We will continue to review and adapt our menus in line with the upcoming changes, keeping schools informed as we progress"
