To make learning spelling as relevant as possible, over the course of the year we will cover spelling words from the statutory National Curriculum list. Each week the statutory spelling words will be added to our class page at www.powick.worcs.sch.uk and the full list will be sent home to be learned. The number of spellings each week may vary according to need and relevance. In addition, a regular home reading routine supports development in spelling along with word games and puzzles. In class we keep ‘word logs’ into which the children add words they have misspelt in their written work.
