Welcome to Reception. It has been a busy start to term and everyone is settling in well.
This term we will be doing a lot of work on developing listening skills, building knowledge of letter sounds and word building. In number we will be focusing on numbers from 0 to 20; we will be ordering, finding 1 more than and relating the number to objects. We shall also be exploring shape, space and measurement.
Our topic areas are Bears and Signs of Autumn. We have been finding out about what we like and don't like as well as what is similar and different with our bears and we are currently using our senses to find out about Autumn. Our next topic area is Space.
In addition we will be participating in P.E. regularly. Please help them by encouraging them to dress and undress themselves independently. We will be using the Forest school on Friday afternoon.
In their book bags they now have all got a reading record and are now bringing a book home each day to share with you.

In Reception we have been working hard on learning to work and play cooperatively. This week this group worked very hard, and for a long time, making this giant town out of the bricks. They were very proud of the results of their hard work. Well done
