We teach phonics using Phonics Play, which is based on Letters and Sounds, and our reading scheme is closely matched to the graphemes that are taught in each phase. Children who fall behind are offered additional support within class. If children do not make the expected progress, small group and 1:1 support may be offered, following an assessment of phonological awareness and knowledge.
